Corewire (“we”, “us”) operates corewire.news. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain English.
Information we collect
Automatically: like most websites, our servers and analytics tools record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and referring URLs. Voluntarily: if you email us or submit a form, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your name and email address. We do not require accounts and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (via the MonsterInsights plugin) to understand how the site is used: which stories are read, how readers arrive and what devices they use. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising and cookies
Corewire is advertising supported. We work, or plan to work, with third-party advertising partners including Google AdSense. These partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and, where you consent, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Google may use the advertising cookie to serve personalised ads; you can manage this in Google Ads Settings or opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info. How we use information
We use collected information to operate and improve the site, measure readership, serve advertising that funds our journalism, respond to your messages and protect the site from abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that run the site: hosting, analytics, advertising and email providers, each bound by their own privacy terms; and where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR in the UK and EU, and CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email help@corewire.news and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention and security
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, and we use industry-standard measures (HTTPS everywhere, limited access, reputable providers) to protect it. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
